Hi Marc,

if R CrB darkens, please send an extra posting to this forum!

Kind regards

fquadrat

Hi fquadrat,

By how much should it be fainter to get the alert out ?
R CrB is very slowly getting brighter, exchanging short periods with getting just a little bit fainter again.
So small puffs of smoke clouds are now and then getting out of this carbon star.
But it can do anything anytime.

Best regards,
Marc

Hi Marc!
Zitat von BiesmansMarc:
By how much should it be fainter to get the alert out ?
R CrB is very slowly getting brighter, exchanging short periods with getting just a little bit fainter again.
Perhaps it is the best to wait until the star stays at its regular brightness of approximately 6 mag for a longer period and then alert if the brightness drops below 7 mag. According to the light curve, this often will result in a true minimum, not just a short drop with following recovery.

Clear skies!
