Hi Zyklop, yes I took the HEQ-5 as a checked-in baggage on airplane (I just purchased another baggage for the flight), but the G53F went there by car and ferry boat along with my friends big newtonian... but I took just my lil Borg on board of the plane.

very good idea.
I was in Teneriffe last year and the sky was really good but a bit light polluted too at the Teide during a shot startrail.
