For sale are handmade, symmetrical biconvex single lenses. The price listed is per lens. These are suitable for building replicas of old telescopes.
The lenses were ground and polished using modern and traditional 17th-century manufacturing techniques. Each lens is unique, and its optical quality has been confirmed by individual testing. Although they function across the entire aperture, the sharpest images are obtained at the recommended usable diameter.
Based on tests under the sky, I recommend these lenses for observing bright celestial objects such as the Sun, Moon, classical planets, and double stars. The large 52mm lenses can be used without a tube by mounting the objective in a cardboard box and attaching it to an extendable photo tripod. Observation is then comfortably done while seated with the eyepiece in hand. Bright objects such as the Moon and planets, even bright double stars, can be observed. For objectives with focal lengths over 1800mm, the tube can be attached at two points. Cardboard tubes are also suitable for building telescopes
