Now a good news, the future version 3 is underway!
Why not 2.8 but 3 ? Because this is a totally rewritten software that
will run on both Windows and Linux system.
A Linux version require a lot of change to remove all the Windows
dependencies, I profit of this occasion to cleanup the code that
suffer of the long development time of the current version.
This may take some time before a first alpha version is available, I
probably begin with a very simple version to test the principle and
then add progressively all the current function. For this reason I
don't want to add anything to the current version in the mean time.
This version will be open source, I create a project at
Sourceforge.net to host the files, the url is
http://sourceforge.net/projects/skychart/
For now it contain only the port of the catalog access library
catalog.dll renamed libcatalog. I begin by this one because it
require a very little change to compile with Linux.
I hope to give you more information when a first alpha version is
available.
