How do you rate the DMK72 after those images? Is the max resolution usable?

Hi Piotr,

max resolution ist useable, but there are two problems: very large files and problems with avi-processing.
When using full resolution, different seeing effects in different image positions are actually a big problem for stacking software, and files up to 5 GB for 1000 images.

Image scale is same as pl130 with 2x TAL barlow, signal convertion looks better, definitly less " onion rings" compared to the pl130.
It´s a nice little camera, i like it, i will use it as my standard-moon-device. Best results are achived with 1600x1200 considering capture frame rates AND processing. When using filters, you have to increase gain significantly.
CCD and full frame transfer is probably better, but i have no personal experience with dmk41 or similar cameras.

I usually use 2/3 - 3/4 of max gain when imaging the Moon with IR filters (RG1000, RG850 etc.). I'm thinking about getting one of those DMK72 cams for Moon, guiding (should work in PHD through WDM cams list), and maybe some piggyback with a widefield CS-lens (which I did with DMK21 some time ago)
