Hello, just see this thread the first time. I got some questions:
What are BMM sequences? I only use AAVSO charts in visual and also with CCD camera.
What is CCDV Henden or CCDV APASS?
Regards Achim

Hi Achim,

BMM sequences or anything saying BMM is something that I made.
I am BMM = AAVSO initials of Marc Biesmans.
So I made the sequences using the very best photometry that is available.
And the sequences are also the very best.
Not like the AAVSO sequences, that are "political", in other words far from scientific.
Using comp. stars for "political reasons" because they are already used for a long time.
But many of those comp. stars are too red or too blue, or faint comp. stars very near bright stars,
or located too far away, or located straight below or above the variable, which just causes wrong
observations.
That is one of the reasons you see such enormous scatter in the AAVSO observations.

CCDV Henden and CCDV APASS is photometry using a V-filter, done by Arne Henden (ex director of
the AAVSO, photometry done at Flagstaff, AZ, USA).
CCDV APASS = photometry done by the APASS robotic system, also using a V-filter.

You can find the APASS CCDV photometry here : APASS: The AAVSO Photometric All-Sky Survey | aavso.org
You also will find more info and a description of the system there.

I worked for several years as a volunteer chartmaker for the AAVSO.

Best regards,
Marc

Hello Marc, thanks for your answer. I appreciate your own ref magnitudes. But I think in your way your data is lost for the rest of the world. Or do you also report in AAVSO V-ref-magnitudes?

Hi Marc, if you like, let's compare your BMM charts with the AAVSO charts. Do you have charts for SN 2020uxz, BL LAC, QSO B0109+224 or 3C66A? These will be my next CCD targets. At the moment, I don't have an Astrodon V-filter (they are sold out since months), so the photometric magnitude will be CV.
Regards Achim
