Dear Manfred,
I don't know if the high cost of the Zeiss 7x50GA T* is proportionate to the optical quality; I'd like to understand this too, because the Fujinon 7x50 FMT-SX2 costs about 1/3...
Anyway, if I had sure the Zeiss is quite superior to the competitors (Fujinon and Nikon 7x50 Astroluxe), I'd be ready to spend the requested money.
I don't know the Fujinon 7x50, but I've got the 10x50 and this is of high quality; no doubt the 7x50 must be of the same quality...I think so...
The Zeiss has long eye-relief (18mm) and the Fujinon too (23mm declared, but 17mm usable); as far as I know, the Nikon has 15mm of eye-relief. I wear glasses due to my astigmatism, so long eye-relief is an important requisite; from this viewpoint I'd prefer Zeiss of Fujinon.
But what is the best among them?
Last June, I tested the Zeiss during daylight and I liked them, but was during daylight...
What is able to show the best pin point stars?
Manfred, I also have got the Mewlon, the 210 size. I've just ordered the Zeiss eyepiece: the 12,8mm of focal length for the Diascope, but equipped with the astro-adapter. I will let you know how it performs.
Bye,
fabio
